For owner-operators and 1099 drivers based around Atlanta, Savannah, Macon and Augusta, running I-75, I-85, I-95, I-20 and I-16.
Georgia drivers enroll through Georgia Access, the state-run exchange that replaced HealthCare.gov for Georgians starting with 2025 coverage. The state has not fully expanded Medicaid. Georgia freight splits between port drayage out of Savannah, a huge Atlanta distribution market and long-haul, and each needs a different kind of network.

The Port of Savannah is one of the busiest container ports in the country, and I-16 and I-95 carry its boxes inland. Atlanta, where I-75, I-85 and I-20 meet the I-285 perimeter, is the Southeast's largest distribution market. In between are poultry in north Georgia, carpet in Dalton and agriculture across the south of the state.
A drayage driver home every night in Savannah needs a strong local network. An OTR driver based in Macon needs reach. Georgia Access plans are built around in-state systems, so the long-haul driver is the one most likely to need a nationwide PPO.
Before you buy, search the plan's directory for the hospitals your family would use at home, such as Piedmont, Wellstar, Emory Healthcare and Memorial Health in Savannah, and for urgent care along I-75, I-85, I-95, I-20 and I-16.
Georgia Access is a state storefront, not a different set of rules: federal tax credits work the same way, and the 2027 window is November 1 to January 15, with December 15 as the deadline for a January 1 start. Georgia runs Georgia Pathways instead of full Medicaid expansion. It has its own eligibility and activity requirements, so some lower-income adults still land in a gap between Medicaid and tax credits.
Above the 400% line, Georgia drivers pay full Marketplace price. That is where healthy drivers should price a private plan on a nationwide PPO network.
No. Since 2025 coverage, Georgians enroll through Georgia Access, the state-run exchange. Federal subsidy rules are unchanged.
Not fully. Georgia runs a limited program, Georgia Pathways, with its own eligibility and activity requirements.
